S C H O L A M A J O R
"In every Christian family the greatest weight must be attached to the bringing up of the children in conjunction with the practice of religion. In relation to this matter it behooves parents to bear in mind the Saviour's exhortation: 'Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His justice.' Parents ought not to have merely worldly aims in regard to the education of their children; they ought not only to seek to have a large fortune to leave them, or to enable them at a later period to acquire much wealth; it is their duty to take care, first of all, that their children are religiously brought up. In the generality of cases the whole subsequent life depends upon the early training received--the happiness or misery of both parents and children. The words of Our Lord are worthy of attention: 'Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?." -- Rev. Lasance |

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart
Prayer: Remember, O Our Lady of the Sacred Heart! the unlimited power that thou possessest over the Heart of thy adorable Son. Full of confidence in thy merits, I come to implore thy protection. O sovereign Mistress of the Heart of Jesus! of that Heart which is the inexhaustible source of all graces and which thou canst open at thy pleasure, and cause all the treasures of love and mercy, of light and salvation, that this Heart incloses, to descend upon man, grant me, I conjure thee, the favor I solicit. No, I cannot bear a refusal, and because thou art my Mother, O our Lady of the Sacred Heart! favorably receive my prayer, and vouchsafe to grant my petition. Amen.
