S C H O L A   M I N O R

"A main factor in the education of a child is the school. The training during school has a twofold purpose--one temporal, the other eternal. During school the child ought to be trained to be a good and useful member of society, to do the will of God, and thus to secure the reward of heaven. The supernatural part of this twofold undertaking requires that the school should not merely instruct, but educate also; educate in obedience, in truthfulness, and before all else, in the fear of God, in self-control and in purity of heart. Thus we see that the chief work the Christian school has to perform is to teach the child to be a good Christian, who will on this account be a good citizen as well." -- Rev. Lasance

Our Lady of Lourdes
Prayer: O ever immaculate Virgin, Mother of mercy, health of the sick, refuge of sinners, comfort of the afflicted, you know my wants, my troubles, my sufferings; deign to cast upon me a look of mercy. By appearing in the Grotto of Lourdes, you were pleased to make it a privileged sanctuary, whence you dispense your favors, and already many sufferers have obtained the cure of their infirmities, both spiritual and corporal. I come, therefore, with unbounded confidence, to implore your maternal intercession. Obtain, O loving Mother, the grant of my requests. I will endeavor to imitate your virtues, that I may one day share your glory, and bless you in eternity. Amen.
